About this Event
A lack of assertiveness in workplaces can result in aggressive behaviour, where people violate the rights of others, or passive behaviour, where people allow their rights to be violated. Both extremes can lead to harms to one's mental health.
Led by psychologist Dr. Jamie Berry and Founder of MAP IT FORWARD Lee Safar, this full-day workshop will help hospitality workers develop their assertiveness skills in order to produce better long-term mental health and happier workplaces.
After completing this workshop, you will be able to:
distinguish assertive behaviour from passive or aggressive behaviour;
demonstrate greater verbal and non-verbal assertiveness skills;
apply assertiveness within your workplace to improve the health and well-being of yourself and your colleagues and customers;
apply assertiveness more broadly within your life to maximise care to yourself and minimise harm to others.
